“De Nijs” – a special photo exhibition by Govert de Roos

Starting 20 May 2025, the iconic Clayton Hotel Amsterdam American at Leidseplein proudly presents “De Nijs”, a remarkable photo exhibition by renowned Dutch photographer Govert de Roos.

This intimate and timeless collection showcases over 40 years of photographs of Rob de Nijs – from behind-the-scenes moments to iconic stage portraits. Known for his portraits of both national and international stars, De Roos has followed Rob since the 1980s. With this series, he offers a deeply personal and artistic tribute to one of the Netherlands’ greatest musical icons.

The exhibition is free to the public and located on the mezzanine of the hotel. In the lead-up to the musical “Malle Babbe” at the nearby DeLaMar Theater, “De Nijs” adds an artistic layer to the musical legacy of Rob de Nijs.
